Bloomfield, NJ — October 27, 2015 — Surround Technologies announces the general availability of version 6.1 of its Accelerator™ for .NET software development platform, a premier productivity solution for the development and use of desktop, browser and mobile .NET applications with Windows, Windows Azure, IBM i and IBM System z.

Accelerator for .NET Version 6.1 builds upon the success of version 6.0 released early 2015. Various improvements in 6.1 aim to make developing even easier for our customers. In an effort to understand what our customers experience in real-world development scenarios, Surround developers joined in and started "eating our own dog food". Surround knows that to understand real world needs, you need to dive into real projects, outside the daily development tasks of the product to understand what users really want and need. Working on new projects, and developing along side existing clients for modernization and new development needs, it is amazing to be able to work with our development tool and discover new ways to do more with less code and simplify complex tasks for our clients. Having our team use the product in the way our clients do is a great way to make small improvements that offer a Big Bang!
Version 6.1 brings improvements which span across the entire product including creating helper classes and extension methods to make common tasks easier and less complex during the development process. Additional logging features have been built for better insight in troubleshooting and debugging within projects. Improvements to our Query Object have made complicated Query statements easier to code and significantly decreased their run time. A common request from our clients to allow the ability to float Sub Modules in the WPF version of the application has now been developed and is in use. Previously sub modules were locked in place in the application, providing a static preview area. By floating the sub module area working within the application is more streamlined and data more visible than ever. Clients now have the ability to not only view multiple application sessions side by side, but see changes live in multiple windows across multiple levels of data while working with records.
As technology changes in the IT industry so too must we to keep our customers current. Version 6.1 of the Accelerator has been retargeted to use the latest .NET Framework 4.5.2, and become certified for use with Microsoft Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2015 for developers using the most up to date platforms available. Surround Technologies understands the best software uses the best tools available, and the need to stay current is not an option, it's a requirement.
